Please Donate today! Your donation to our Foundation Day at the Races provides integral funding for our Emergency Help Fund. 

The Covid-19 pandemic continues to cause unimaginable hardships for the families that we serve through the San Diego Regional Center. These families continue to be faced with impossible choices, whether to pay rent or put food on the table. In the past three months alone, the Foundation has provided over $65,000 in emergency assistance grants, ranging from $500-$1000 per client to help pay their rent, cover medical costs, and help improve the quality of life of people living with developmental disabilities in San Diego and Imperial Counties.

The Impact of Your Support    

  • Meet Elizabeth, a 7-year-old girl on the autism spectrum. Her mother works full time in a nursery as the sole provider to Elizabeth and her older sister. The family was given a one-week notice to move out of the place they were renting, and they had to use all their savings to look for a new place to live. The Foundation helped them with their first months rent in the new apartment to help prevent them from becoming homeless.
  • Meet Joan, a senior living with a severe developmental disability. Joan lives on a fixed income, which is used for housing, medications, transportation, and appointments. She received an eviction notice after living in one residence for 12 years. With the assistance of her Supportive Living Service, she was able to find a mobile estate that would fit all of her needs. The Foundation was able to assist in paying the deposit on the new residence, allowing her to maintain her fixed income and stabilize in her new situation.

The stories are endless but the theme is the same. These families need our help in emergency situations that are beyond their control. Your donation to our cause helps us continue to provide this service.
